Swauk Valley is ranch Located 11 miles east of Ellensburg, WA near Thorp, WA. The Yakima River runs along three miles of the property's southern border and Yakima Creek to the east. The site is bisected by Swauk Creek.

 

The property includes:

 

• 721 acres of conservation easements
• Several ponds
• Rattlesnake habitat study area
• Log house
• Bunkhouse
• Wagon shed
• Pump house
• Fishing cabin
• Stables

 

R. W. Thorpe & Associates, Inc. assisted the appraiser in evaluating potential home and cabin sites. The work included site visits to document home site views and conservation areas. RWT/A provided draft legal descriptions and boundary line adjustments for partial/home sites.

 

Conservation beneficiaries included:

 

• Central Washington University's Horticulture Program - an Endangered Plant Propagation area was allocated
• Yakima Native American Tribe - a Tribal Resources Research Area was created
